Za Vas was founded in 2012 as a blog dedicated to the Bosnian Canadian audiences in and around the Toronto area. It hopes to grow into a company that provides local and news from abroad for Bosnian Canadians right across Canada. Currently Za Vas’s only publishing source is online while it strives to expand into print and expand into a local Bosnian Canadian business directory featuring local Bosnian and other Balkan businesses.

Za Vas is committed to responsible journalism and positive local social change within the Greater Toronto Area. The organization and its members are dedicated to providing content that’s nothing short of opinionated, honest and creative. Even though the Za Vas group is mostly comprised of enthusiasts who through their full-time careers dedicate time out of their busy schedules in order to provide a modest contribution to the development of the Bosnia & Herzegovina Community in Toronto.

Our primary role on this blog is to encourage and develop new ideas. We come from Bosnia and Herzegovina - a beautiful country – with a desire to transfer a part of the Bosnian culture and customs to the western society we currently live in. It’s the least we can do. And since most of us have immigrated to Canada at some point or another, it is our duty to not forget where we’ve come from, cherish our customs, and embrace our rich tradition and culture.

Aside from sharing everything with the local Bosnian Community in Toronto,  we are proud to share everything Bosnia – a state that dates back to the twelfth century – with our Canadian friends. As a nation that works hard to leave the ugly war memories behind, the new generation of Bosnians in Canada and predominately within the Greater Toronto Area continue to grow in many different aspects – predominately many have become very successful business people.

Our dedication to this website is immense, and  we think that it is time to organize everything that Bosnian Canadians have to offer and present it to the public here and in many other faucets while continuing to grow the local Bosnian community, it’s culture, music and local businesses. This website is just the start of that. But without your support we are just another website in the ever growing online world.
